The Way

Just to take a break from all of the doom and gloom, I wanted to remind you all of the single most important person in our lives.

Jesus Christ.

Yahshua HaMashiach.

Son of the Living God.

His name is the only name by which we are to be saved (Acts 4:12), no one goes to the Father except by Him (John 14:6).

In Christ Jesus, we have, an example (John 13:15), a guide (Luke 1:79, John 16:13), a Saviour (Luke 2:11, Acts 5:31, II Timothy 1:10), a High Priest (Hebrew 2:17; 3:1; 4:14-15; 5:5; 5:10; 6:20), a friend (John 15:14-15) and a brother (Mark 3:35).

God in flesh...

He came to us, to teach us the way to the Father and to Salvation.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6 [KJV])

Let’s look into the original Greek to find out what He means:

I am the] Way

Phonetic: hod-os'

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matthew 7:13-14 [KJV])

And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. (John 14:4 [KJV])

Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. (Acts 2:28 [KJV]

For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes (Revelation 7:17 [KJV])

The] Truth:

Original: ληθεια
Transliteration: aletheia
Phonetic: al-ay'-thi-a

Thayer Definition: objectively - what is true in any matter under consideration, truly, in truth, according to truth, of a truth, in reality, in fact, certainly, what is true in things appertaining to God and the duties of man, moral and religious truth, in the greatest latitude, the true notions of God which are open to human reason without His supernatural intervention, the truth as taught in the Christian religion, respecting God and the execution of his purposes through Christ, and respecting the duties of man, opposing alike to the superstitions of the Gentiles and the inventions of the Jews, and the corrupt opinions and precepts of false teachers even among Christians. Subjectively - truth as a personal excellence, that candour of mind which is free from affection, pretence, simulation, falsehood, deceit.
Strong's Definition: From G227; truth: - true, X truly, truth, verity.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. (John 1:14 [KJV]

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:32 [KJV]

Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you (John 14:17 [KJV])

Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come. (John 16:13 [KJV])

Sanctify them through Thy truth: Thy word is truth. (John 17:17 [KJV])

For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth (Ephesians 5:9 [KJV]

And, He is the] Life:

Original: ζωη
Transliteration: zoe
Phonetic: dzo-ay'

Thayer Definition: life, the state of one who is possessed of vitality or is animate, every living soul, life, of the absolute fullness of life, both essential and ethical, which belongs to God, and through him both to the hypo-static "logos" and to Christ in whom the "logos" put on human nature, life; real and genuine, a life active and vigorous, devoted to God, blessed, in the portion even in this world of those who put their trust in Christ, but after the resurrection to be consummated by new accessions (among them a more perfect body), and to last for ever.
Strong's  Definition: life (literally or figuratively): - life (-time).

And when He had called the people unto Him with His disciples also, He said unto them, Whosoever will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for My sake and the Gospel’s, the same shall save it. (Mark 8:34-35 [KJV]

In Him was life; and the life was the light of men. (John 1:4 [KJV])

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 [KJV])

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:36 [KJV]

For as the Father hath life in Himself; so hath He given to the Son to have life in Himself; (John 5:26 [KJV])

For the bread of God is He which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. Then said they unto Him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he  that cometh to Me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on Me shall never thirst. (John 6:33-35 [KJV]

And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:40 [KJV]

I am the living bread which came down from Heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. (John 6:51 [KJV]

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12 [KJV])

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. (John 10:28 [KJV]

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die. Believest thou this? (John 11:25-26 [KJV])

These words spake Jesus, and lifted up His eyes to Heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify Thy Son, that Thy Son also may glorify Thee: As Thou hast given Him power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as Thou hast given Him. And this is life eternal, that they might know Thee the only true God, and Jesus  Christ, whom Thou hast sent. (John 17:1-3 [KJV])

Adam Clarke’s Commentary gives us the following:

I am the WAY] That leads so the Father: - the TRUTH that teaches the knowledge of God, and directs in the way: - the LIFE that animates all those who seek and serve Him, and which is to be enjoyed eternally at the end of the way.

Christ is the WAY:

1. By His doctrine, John 6:68.
2. By His example, 1 Peter 2:21.
3. By His sacrifice, Hebrews  9:8, 9.
4. By His Spirit, John 16:13.

He is the TRUTH:

1. In opposition to all false religions.

2.  To the Mosaic law, which was only the shadow, not the truth or substance, of the good things which were to come.

And 3. In respect to all the promises of God, (2 Corinthians 1:20).
He is the LIFE, both in grace and glory; the life that not only saves from death, but destroys it.

No man cometh unto the Father] By any other doctrine, by any other merit, or by any other intercession than His

From Matthew Henry’s Commentary

He speaks of himself as the way, (John 14:6).
Dost thou not know the way? I am the way, and I only, for no man comes to the Father but by me
Great things Christ here saith of Himself, showing us, the nature of His mediation: He is the way, the truth, and the life.

First, Let us consider these first distinctly.

1. Christ is the way, the highway spoken of (Isaiah 35:8).
Christ was His own way, for by His own blood He entered into the Holy Place (Hebrews. 9:12), and He is our way, for we enter by Him
By His doctrine and example He teaches us our duty, by His merit and intercession He procures our happiness, and so He is the way.
In Him God and man meet, and are brought together.
We could not get to the tree of life in the way of innocency; but Christ is another way to it.
By Christ, as the way an intercourse is settled and kept up between Heaven and earth; the angels of God ascend and descend; our prayers go to God, and His blessings come to us by Him; this is the way that leads to rest, the good old way.

The Disciples followed Him, and Christ tells them that they followed the road, and, while they continued following Him, they would never be out of their way.

2. He is the truth.
(1.) As truth is opposed to figure and shadow.
Christ is the substance of all the Old Testament types, which are therefore said to be figures of the true, (Hebrews. 9:24).
Christ is the true manna, (Hebrews 6:32), the true tabernacle, (Hebrews.;8:2).

(2.) As truth is opposed to falsehood and error; the doctrine of Christ is true doctrine. When we enquire for truth, we need learn no more than the truth as it is in Jesus.

(3.) As truth is opposed to fallacy and deceit; He is true to all that trust in Him, as true as truth itself, (2 Corinthians 1:20.)

3. He is the life; for we are alive unto God only in and through Jesus Christ, (Romans  6:11).
Christ formed in us is that to our souls which our souls are to our bodies.
Christ is the resurrection and the life.

Secondly, let us consider these jointly, and with reference to each other.

Christ is the way, the truth, and the life; that is,
1. He is the beginning, the middle, and the end
In Him we must set out, go on, and finish.
As the truth, He is the guide of our way; as the life, He is the end of it.

2. He is the true and living way (Hebrews  10:20); there are truth and life in the way, as well as at the end of it.

3. He is the true way to life, the only true way; other ways may seem right, but the end of them is the way of death.

And finally, from The Fourfold Gospel and Commentary on the Acts of the Apostles, we have the following:

John 14:6 - No one cometh unto the Father, but by Me.

God is not approached by physical motion.
Being Spirit, we must draw near to Him by spiritual simplicity, and this is revealed to us fully in the person of Christ, and an energising power is imparted by Christ to enable us to attain unto it. (TFG 661)

Now.

What has been studied here is only one aspect of Jesus, the aspect of the Saviour.

We know now that, by and through Jesus Christ only, is the way made to salvation and eternal life.

The only truth in a world of trickery, lies and deceit.

And His (freely given) gift to us, is that of redemption, forgiveness of sin and the ultimate (and glorious!) entrance to eternal life in Him. Praise His Name!

Through Christ Jesus, we can openly approach and know God the Father.

Through Jesus, our High Priest, we can enter the Holy of Holies with our prayers and petitions.

We have also seen here that, in the end, we have but two very clearly defined choices. And that's the main impetus for me putting this together, by way of the Holy Spirit.

One choice, given freely to any and all who would accept, is to everlasting life.

The other way, is that of the second death and everlasting separation.

You stand at the nexus.

Your very soul is at stake in these, the last days.

You have one of two choices before you, to make.

Right now.

Remember, once you've breathed your last, there's no going back.
No second chances once Judgement is entered.
No grey areas.
It's black and white.
Cut and dried.
Wheat and tares.
Sheep and goats.
Binary.

Yes.

Or no.

Eternal life through Christ Jesus, or eternal separation and death

Think about it.

And choose wisely.

And choose now!

Before it’s too late.

Because one day, soon enough, it will be…

If ye had known Me, ye should have known My Father also: and from henceforth ye know Him, and have seen Him. (John 14:7 [KJV])

God bless ❤ 🕆

Chris.
